"Domestic Abuse or Violence: Challenges and Responses"


 

In implementation of the curriculum prepared by the Deanship of the College of Education at our university, English Department, in cooperation with the University Counseling Department and the Women's Affairs Division, organized an awareness seminar entitled "Domestic Violence: Challenges and Responses." The seminar took place at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 24, 2025. The participants included:

1. Asst. Prof. Yasmine Mahmoud Wannous - Chair.

2. Asst. Prof. Nazik Aziz Darwish - Lecturer.

3. Asst. Prof. Shorook Qasim Muhammad - Rapporteur.

The seminar addressed the most prominent forms of domestic violence, its causes, and the serious psychological and social consequences it entails. It also reviewed the most prominent methods of response and prevention, and the importance of spreading a culture of family awareness in society. The symposium aimed to raise community awareness and provide educational and psychological treatments to reduce this phenomenon, thus contributing to build a cohesive family environment capable of facing challenges.
