Department of Forensic Science
Forensic science is a science that specializes in investigating all facts and information related to a crime, whether this evidence is present at the crime scene or otherwise. It is well known that forensic evidence varies according to its nature. There is intangible, moral evidence, such as testimony and confession, or visible evidence in the physical world, such as finding the weapon used in the crime. There are also other types of evidence connected to the crime, whether this connection is material or moral.
The Department of Forensic Science is one of the scientific departments with visible specializations in Iraq and the world, and it is one of the rare specializations. Sawa University was quick to open the Department of Forensic Science, believing in the necessity of scientific specializations that cover fields of work and market needs in both the private and public sectors.
