Activating students’ skills in the field of programming for medical devices according to modern technologies and in a way that achieves compatibility with the requirements of the labour market.

After graduation, the student will be an applied engineer who is familiar with modern technologies in the field of medical device engineering. In addition to that, this department provides an academic environment and community services that keep pace with the rapid development in the field of medical devices, and supplies the latest study programs to keep pace with the scientific departments, corresponding to the Medical Device Technology Engineering Department in reputable Arab and international universities so as to achieve compatibility with the requirements of the labour market.

 

 Mission:

At each academic stage, the student learns the different and most important curricula and skills related to the various scientific and practical sectors, which demonstrate the importance of this specialization by providing an educational, technical and research environment for students. This is achieved by providing modern educational programs and curricula through practical laboratories and advanced applied research to simulate the need of the labour market and openness to Health institutions, as well as contributing to improve the health situation at the international and regional levels.

1. Graduating qualified engineers of using educational outcomes which are capable of programming smart medical devices that change the mode of operation of these devices according to the requirements of the labour market.

2. Providing the students with scientific and applied skills that enable him to diagnose malfunctions resulting in medical devices.

3. Graduating students who have the ability to be familiar with the parts of various medical devices and keep pace with the development that occurs in their technologies.

4. Providing the graduate with the ability to have detailed knowledge of all modern technologies in the field of medical device engineering.

5. Providing students with sufficient skills to make the necessary updates regarding medical devices.

6. Expanding vertically towards creating a postgraduate program to obtain master’s and doctoral degrees.

7. The department seeks to achieve quality standards according to available capabilities.

8. Graduating a staff capable of installing and operating various electronic and electromechanical medical devices of both diagnostic and therapeutic types.

9. Graduating a staff capable of contributing and supervising the maintenance and calibration of various medical devices.

10. Graduating an engineering staff capable of developing and trying to find alternatives to some parts related to medical devices.

11. Graduating engineers capable of scheduling and programming periodic maintenance work.

 

The Job description for graduates

1. Installing and operating medical devices of all types (diagnostic, therapeutic, and laboratory).

2. Contributing and supervising the maintenance and performing the necessary calibration of various medical devices.

3. Designing, developing and finding replacement parts for some broken units of medical devices.

 

A medical device graduate works:

1. In hospitals: in the fields of installation, maintenance, repair, testing, and determining specifications of medical devices.

2. In industry: in the field of manufacturing and developing medical devices to suit human vital systems.

3. In academic institutes: in the field of technical training in laboratories and academic teaching of some courses.
