The Role of Students in Combating Cyber Extortion
In accordance with the curriculum prepared by our university's administration, the Deanship of the College of Education, in cooperation with the Community Policing Directorate of the Provincial Police Command and the University Psychological Counseling and Student Activities Departments, held an awareness seminar entitled "The Role of Students in Combating Cyber ??Extortion." The seminar took place at 9:00 AM on Saturday, January 19, 2026, and was attended by:
1- Dr. Rateb Raheem Khader - Chair.
2- Colonel Khudair Abbas Mohammed - Lecturer.
3- Lieutenant Lama Jawad Kadhim - Rapporteur.
The seminar addressed the significant and vital role students play in combating cyber extortion by raising awareness among their peers and families, protecting their personal accounts, and immediately reporting any extortion incidents they experience or witness. This involves documenting evidence and reporting to the relevant authorities without engaging with the extortionist.
