The Speech of Sawa University President

The renaissance of every nation is associated with its role and scientific institutions that spread knowledge and science among its people and transfer them to the space of creativity, and this was confirmed by the Constitution of the Republic of Iraq for the year 2005 in Article (34) where education was considered a basic factor for the progress of society and a right guaranteed by the state. Thus, the constitutional legislator adopted two approaches to the right education; the first is the free curriculum, which means that the state guarantees education for all Iraqis in the various educational stages without any charge, and the second is private education, which is paid for, for those who wish to do so. The Private Higher Education Law No. 25 of 2016 came to regulate this last type of education. The legislator has a clear philosophy in managing this type of education, based on the dissemination and development of knowledge and the provision of primary and higher university study opportunities for the purpose of contributing to bring about quantitative and qualitative changes in the scientific, cultural and educational movement in the Iraqi society as well as contributing to encourage scientific research and develop scientific curricula. Our university has been working since the first day of the launch of its scientific platforms in 2020 is to adopt this philosophy and put it into practice in a way that serves the dissemination and development of knowledge.
