 Vision

College of Health and Medical Techniques occupies a unique scientific position in the academic and scientific scenes locally and in the Arab world, and plays a vital role in the technical, health and medical fields, thus serving the needs of society and the requirements of the labor market. In fact, College of Health and Medical Techniques has a sober scientific staff and equipped lecture halls that enable this college to achieve the visions it looks for.

 

 

Objectives:

1- Enhancing the role of technical education and its effectiveness in the fields of knowledge and education.

2- Preparing advanced health, medical and technical staff at a high level such as in developed countries, capable of supplying health institutions and society according to their needs.

3- The constant updates of the theoretical curricula and practical applications which the college adopts in its study.

4- Providing applicable methods to achieve students' scientific and professional ambition.

5- The serious endeavor and quest to develop students' practical skills and expand their knowledge.

6- Adopting scientific methods, systems and curricula capable of strengthening the structure of the technical staff in Iraq at all its different levels.

7- Expanding the college's scientific activities to what is beyond its field.

8- Establishing a cooperation and interaction with other similar colleges locally, regionally and internationally.

9- Developing positive relations with various institutions outside the college.

10- Providing medical services to sick citizens through various consulting clinics, which are supervised by specialist physicians with the help of technical staff from the college graduates.

 

 

Description of the graduates:

The student who graduates from the college is granted a bachelor degree in Health and Medical Techniques; each according to his/her own specialization.

The College provides the following clinics:

  1- Clinic for Vision Techniques

This clinic works on training the students of the optometry department and receiving patients from all levels of society to provide them with medical services such as examining and correcting strabismus and refractive errors, making medical glasses, providing lenses, as well as examining eye diseases by qualified optometrists.

 

 

 Radiology Clinic:

  This clinic provides medical services to the society and diagnoses diseases such as bones, joints, fractures, and diseases of the urinary and respiratory system with x-rays, in addition it provides training services for college students. The work is carried out by physicians specialized in diagnostic radiology, academics, technicians, and the undergraduate students of the radiology department.

 

 

Ultrasound Clinic:

Diagnosing gynecological and internal diseases and emergency cases for students; this, in turn, provides an early diagnosis for students and the other staff, treating them in order to save time, provide an educational tool for students, clarify the role of ultrasound in diagnosing diseases such as those of the urinary system, pelvis and uterus.

The Laboratory for Pathological Analyses

This laboratory receives patients from inside and outside the college in order to conduct all laboratory tests such as blood tests, immunity, hormones, as well as viruses, at very affordable prices. The laboratory also holds training courses, including general and advanced pathological analysis courses, health professions courses, courses for the unemployed, and finally courses in the use of laboratory equipments, especially the Laisa device. This laboratory also conducts researches in clinical medical fields.

 

 

Scientific Laboratories:

They are (16) laboratories:

 (5) laboratories for the Department of Pathological Analysis Techniques.

(3) laboratories for the Department of Optometry.

 (2) laboratories for the Computer Center.

 (3) laboratories for the Department of Radiology Techniques/ Physics Laboratory.

 (3) laboratories for the Department of Anesthesia Techniques.

 

 

Lecture Halls:

(20) classrooms have been built inside the college to meet the needs of students.
