The Minister of Education announces the launch of the third edition of the Higher Education Reading Award
The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, announced the launch of the third edition of the Higher Education Reading Award, targeting undergraduate and graduate students and international students studying at Iraqi universities.
In his speech, the Minister of Education explained that this edition builds on the success of the previous two editions of the competition in stimulating reading and enhancing cognitive awareness. He agitated all students from public and private universities to actively participate in the award, emphasizing that the Ministry has created a stimulating environment for interaction with selected texts from authentic books, in order to achieve its cultural goals.
The third edition of the competition is based on reading the book "The Problem of Culture" by the Arab thinker Malik Bin Nabi. The total value of the award is 100 million Iraqi dinars, distributed among the top twenty contestants:
??Ten million dinars for the first place winner.
??Eight million dinars for the second place winner.
??Five and a half million for the third place winner.
??Four and a half million for each winner from fourth to twentieth place.
The organizing ministerial committee set the application deadlines for the competition platform (https://ums-awards.mohesr.gov.iq/) from August 10, 2025 to September 28, 2025. It has designated Saturday, October 4, 2025, as the date for the electronic exam at 11:00 AM.
The committee draws the attention of all undergraduate and graduate students and international students continuing their studies at Iraqi universities to the fact that registration on the competition platform is done using their official university email address. This allows participating students to receive an electronic copy of the book (The Problem of Culture) and the exam access code in a timely manner.
