The Department of Anesthesia held a scientific symposium about: (Error in Measurement and Its Impact on the Analytical Work).
Part of the scientific activities held by the Department of Anesthesia at the College of Health and Medical Technologies at our university, a training course was held entitled "Measurement Error and its Impact on Chemical Analysis", in which the following lectured:
- Instructor Dr. Diaa Yahya Aziz / Head of the Department.
- Assist. Lect. Ahmed Mansour Al-Sarraf / Lecturer in the Department of Anesthesia.
The course talked about analytical errors; types, causes and methods of reduction. Then the course discusses the analytical methods, the errors that accompany the work methods, and how to reduce them.
The topics were:
1. Introduction
2. Classification of errors, including:
• Errors according to the mathematical expression
• Errors according to sources
• Errors in terms of impact
• Errors according to reference
3. The gravimetric method and the errors that accompany it
4. The method of volatilization and the errors that accompany it.
5. Recommendations: Including in the curricula topics of errors in the analytical work because of its importance in acquiring information which would contribute to the accuracy of the work and the accuracy of the analytical result, especially in the medical laboratory department.
At the end of the session, the organizers thanked the attendees, both teachers and students. The questions and inquiries of some of the participants were discussed and answered.
